PURPOSE

The TXADONA Board is honored to announce the creation of the Sunny Stout Memorial Scholarship. Sunny's contribution to the Long-Term Care profession is legendary. Many of us in LTC benefited greatly from her knowledge, her enthusiasm and her love for the elderly.

The Sunny Stout Memorial Scholarship has been established to provide financial support to students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, community involvement, and a passion for lifelong learning. This scholarship serves as a tribute to Sunny's dedication to education and commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others.

 

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFACTORS

The scholarship will be awarded to multiple recipients due to generous donors who loved and respected Sunny. The scholarship’s primary benefactor is Mark McKenzie, COO/Owner of Focused Partners Healthcare who was Sunny’s friend and last employer. Mark has committed to being a multi-year benefactor. The number of awards may change year by year depending on the amount of donations each year.  All benefactors will be listed when the scholarships are distributed unless anonymity is requested.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFICIARIES

This scholarship will be open to any employee of a Texas LTC facility, who wishes to pursue or continue to pursue a nursing career. The awardee must commit to continuing work in the Long-Term-Care field. The career path may range from CNA, CMA, LVN or RN including undergraduate and graduate programs. 

 

Scholarship award amounts are as follows:
~$600 for CNA/CMA
~$1500 for LVN program
~$2000 for RN (ADN or BSN)
~$2500 for post baccalaureate (MSN or higher)
